Pranaams to H H Maa Purnananda ji!

Kumbhaabishekam or Kudamuzhukku in Tamil refers to a major temple consecration ritual done every 12 to 15 years after renovation of the temple and to re-energize the temple’s Cosmic Spiritual powers. It is a Herculean task, requiring lot of precise planning for various structural repair works and many important rituals that have to be carried out on proper auspicious days prior to Kumbhaabhishekam.  On Feb 1st, Kumbh was renewed, puja was done, was filled with Navdhanya and was re-erected on the Vimaanam of the temple and covered with red vastra.

One of the major tasks before Kumbhaabhishekam, was to collect the holy Theerth jal from holy rivers across India. Water was collected from Mata Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Narmada and Kaveri. I had the golden opportunity to bring the holy Theerth jal of Mata Kaveri and Mata Tamrabarani from South India. With Lord Sree Ishwar Mahaprabhu’s kripa and H H Maa Purnananda ji’s blessings and with Sri. Chaitanya ji’s determination, Lord Sree Ishwar Darshan Temple’s Kumbhaabhishekam was observed on 14th February 2026, the auspicious Shani Pradosh day. The day started with welcoming Maaji with Purna Kumbh, Arati at Sree Sadguru sharanam, followed by Puja and Homam at Sree Ishwar Darshan temple. In the most beautiful way Puja and Havan were conducted by Pundit jis and it was concluded with Purnaahuti.

Post breakfast, Maaji and Chaitanya ji carried out Dravya Abhishekam for Lord Sree Ishwar.

After that all the devotees present there were blessed with the opportunity to do the Abhishekam for the Deity by entering the Garb Griha. Finally, the moment that all of us were waiting for, came! Chaitanya ji along with 7 other devotees, went on top of the Temple Vimaanam and poured holy Theerth jal from all the sacred rivers on the newly erected Kumbha and onto the temple to infuse the Divine energy, renewing the power and divinity of the Deity.

Kumbhaabhishekam not only blesses the devotees present there with prosperity, it showers blessings to the entire place around the temple with peace and prosperity as well. It is considered as crucial event for maintaining the harmony of the society.

It is said, that one can come anytime within one Mandala – 48 days from the Kumbhaabhishekam day to receive the grace in-case if one has missed the event.

Because of Lord Ishwar’s blessings, I was able to take part in this auspicious beautiful occasion. My Koti Koti namaskarams to Maaji and pranaams to Sri. Chaitanya ji.

MAHASHIVRATRI

I was overwhelmed by God’s grace, as we had the opportunity to observe Maha Shivratri, the next day after celebrating Kumbhaabhishekam.

On the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, a special ’Guided Meditation Session on Shivtattva was conducted by Maaji. We all gathered at Sree Sadguru Sharanam, the perfect place for sadhana.

“Meditation is the method to connect ourselves with our own Divinity”.  Maaji explained step by step sadhana required to experience the Divine, without Form or with Form. Satchidanand with Name & Roop is Sree Ishwar - Form and Satchidanand without Name & Roop is Brahman - Formless.  Maaji concluded the session by explaining about the “Shivtattva” behind the Panchamukha of Lord Sree Shiva. I was blessed with a new name on this day which invigorated me to lead a new life. “Malini” from Mythili Muralidharan.

Maha Shivratri Puja was done in the evening by offering Dravya Abhishekam, Archana and Arati in a proper shodashaupachaar method. With Maaji’s guidance, the whole day, our BMI was surrendered to Lord Sree Shiva.

My pranaams to Maaji for such an enlightening session. There is a great learning in every event. I will cherish this experience forever…

My Pranaams,

Hari Aum!
