Maaji’s profound Call talk, “The Divine Charioteer” on the Grand occasion of Guru Purnima was indeed a blessing to listen to.  Let us Seek Blessings of our Guru Parampara.

Humble Prostrations at the Holy-feet of the Guru-Parampara

Pranaam to H H Maa Purnananda ji on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima

Hari Aum to everyone!

In our Indian tradition, a very high position has been accorded to the Guru. Without the grace of the Guru, no one can attain fulfilment of the purpose of life. The word Guru is derived from two Sanskrit words, Gu and Ru, with the Gu- meaning darkness or ignorance and the Ru-meaning remover of darkness. So put together, the word Guru means a person who removes darkness or ignorance. The knowledge which is obtained from the Guru is potent. In the tradition of Vedic culture, The Guru Parampara - “The Lineage", denotes the unbroken succession of teachers and disciples. Within the broad spectrum of the Hindu religion, the Guru Parampara relationship can be found in numerous variant forms.  All systems of Vedaant — Dvaita, Advaita or Visishtadvaita — honour Guru Parampara.  In Guru Paramapara, not only the current Guru is revered, the three preceding Gurus are also worshipped.

We follow Advaita system of Vedaant.

Sadashiva Samarambam Shankaracharya Madhyamam.
Asmadacharya Paryantam Vande Guru Paramparam.

Beginning with Lord Sadashiva, with Shankaracharya in the middle, and till my Acharya, I bow to the tradition of Teachers...

In Advaita Guru-Parampara - Lord Sree Sadashiva is worshipped as Adi Guru, in the form of Lord Sree Dakshinaamurty.

Nidhaye Sarva-Vidyanam Bhishaje Bhava-Roginam;
Gurave Sarva-Lokanam Dakshinaamurtaye Namah.

Salutations to Sree Dakshinaamurty, the Abode of all learning, the Physician to all those afflicted with the disease of worldly existence, the Teacher of all.

On the Mount Kailas, with Paarvati Devi by His side, Lord Shiva was sitting in a hall beautifully decorated by precious stones. At that time, Lord Shiva ordained that Devi should be born as the daughter of Parvat Raja, thus ordained, Paarvati Devi was born as the child of Parvat Raja.

During the absence of Devi, when Lord Shiva was alone, the sons of Brahma Deva, the sages Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatana and Sanatkumara came to have darshan of Lord Shiva and prostrated before Him. They entreated the Lord to teach them the way to remove avidya and attain Salvation.

Lord Shiva, hearing this appeal made by the sages, assumed the form of Sree Dakshinaamurty, and remaining as the Guru Supreme, began to teach them the inner secrets of Vedas by keeping maunam and showing the Chinmudra by His Hand. Thus Lord Shiva became Adi Guru-Sree Dakshinaamurty. The sages began to meditate on the lines shown by the Lord and attained the state of inexpressible and illimitable joy. The highest Knowledge learnt by them was taught to the Saptarishis, who were Manas putras of Lord Brahma.

May the blessings of Lord Sree Dakshinaamurty be upon us all. May all of us be blessed with the everlasting Peace and Bliss through His Grace...

From Saptarishis - Atri, Bhrigu, Vashistha, Gautama, Viswamitra, Kashyapa, and Angiras, this highest knowledge was passed on to other great Rishis and Sages by Shruti (what is heard) and Smriti (recollections) for yugas....

Shruti Smriti Purananam Alayam Karunalayam.
Namami Bhagwadpadam Shankaram Loka Shankaram.

I bow at the feet of the Lord in the form of Acharyas, who are a ‘Blessing’ for humanity, who are the shrine for the Shruti, the Smriti and the Purana, and who are the abode of compassion.

Vasudeva Sutam Devam Kansa Chanura Mardanam.

I salute to the world Teacher Krishna, Who is the son of Vasudeva,

Who killed Kansa and Chanura, and is the source of great joy to Devaki.

Shankaram Shankaracharyam Keshavam Badarayanam.
Sutra-Bhashya-Kritau Vande Bhagwantau Punah Punah.

I adore Lord Siva, Lord Vishnu, Bhagwaan Sree Vedavyasa and Sree Adi Shankaracharya. I again and again prostrate to Sree Vyasa who wrote the Vedaant Sutras, and to Sree Adi Shankaracharya who wrote the commentaries thereon...

Bhagwaan Sree Vedavyasa ji, who was born 5000 years ago, was considered as the Incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Sree Vyasa ji, divided the vedas into four parts — Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Atharvaveda, and also wrote the Brahma Sutras as the quick reference and for easy understanding of the Vedas.

Jagadguru Sree Adi Shankaracharya ji, who was born 1000 years ago, was considered as Incarnation of Lord Shiva, had written spectacular commentaries on ‘Brahma Sutras’ known as ‘Brahmasutrabhashya’, and it is the oldest surviving commentary on ‘Brahma Sutra’ and also established the Advaita Vedaant throughout India.

Let us seek Blessings of Bhagwaan Sree Vedavyasa ji and Sree Adi Shankaracharya ji!
