My Humble Prostrations at the Holy Feet of Guru Maa!
I was introduced to Satyavrat Institute of Subjective Sciences by one of my friends, to attend the discourses (in Hindi) on Sree Ram Charit Maanas, Sundar Kand by Her Holiness Maa Purnananda ji. In our ongoing journey of discourses on Sree Ram Charit Maanas, “Lanka Kand” started on 17-Dec-2023.
Lanka Kand refers to that episode of Sree Ram Charit Maanas, which marks Lord Sree Ram's ultimate battle against the King Ravan who abducted Mata Sita.
Listening to Maa and understanding the depth of each doha and chaupai is an experience by itself!
The discourse on “Lanka Kand” started with the praise of Lord Sree Ram who removes the fear of birth-death from our hearts through HIS Bhakti. Maa explained very beautifully about it, by giving an example – “Agar hum bimaar hote hain toh sahi chikitsak ke paas jate hain jo humare rog ka upachaar kar sake, usi prakaar, Prabhu ki Bhakti hume Atma bal pradaan karti hai aur kaal roopi matwale haathi ka saamna karne ka, sinha roopi bal pradaan karti hai.”
The Setu to be built on the sea (Bhavsaagar) for Sree Ram’s sena required effort in a similar manner, as we need to build Setu for crossing the sea of life through dedicated Bhakti Bhav. Bhakti is to be built continuously over time. This detailed explanation of building Setu on sea with the example of our life was an eye-opener.
I felt fortunate to attend the discourse on “Lanka Kand” by Guru Maa. I eagerly await further to listen to the Bhakti poorna discourses by Maa on Sree Ram Charit Maanas.
