Worldly Happiness is Not Bliss

We had a Call-Talk with Maa to be worshipful and prayerful for one of the most auspicious days of our life 'Sree Adi Shankaracharyaji Jayanti followed by Gurudev Jayanti, on the subject "Ignorance is NOT Bliss". Without the blessings of the Sadguru in the form of their teachings, today's world would have been in complete ignorance and not realising that ignorance is NOT Bliss! We have to understand the exact import of the word "Bliss" when we read the scriptures. We understand that happiness is not bliss. Joys from the world and objects cannot be bliss. We are bound by the knot of three Gunas, so we need to untie this knot and find the real bliss which is pointed at, in our Scriptures.
We have to refrain ourselves from committing mistakes. By worshipping the Lotus Feet and by the means of Mantra chanting, which is prescribed in Taittireeya Upanishad we can refrain from committing mistakes.
Our Scripture says :
सत्यं वद । धर्मं चर । स्वाध्यायान्मा प्रमदः ।
'Speak the truth’, ‘Conduct yourself on the basis of Dharm’. To know how to conduct ourselves on the basis of Dharm, we have to be under the guidance of a Sadguru. Just reading the Scriptures will not help us. It is important to seek the guidance of our Guru.
In ignorance we are deluded and hopeless, and relate happiness to bliss. Karma on the basis of Dharma will take us to bliss. We must have a proper understanding of our actions, if our progress has to be in the right direction. To attain the real bliss, efforts need to be put.
We have to collect the data from Scriptures, contemplate upon them, assimilate them so we are able to come out of the clutches of our ignorance. We have to understand, that we are staying in ‘asat’, and we have to strive for ‘Sat’.
असतो मा सद्गमय ।
तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय ।
मृत्योर्माऽमृतं गमय ॥
Lead me from the unreal to the Real, lead me from darkness to Light, lead me from death to Immortality. We have to read and understand the scriptures and start living them little by little. It will help us purify ourselves, and pull us out of the ocean of ignorance. Then the Goal is not far – What does it take to just light a room which is full of darkness!
As a mandate, we must never forget to seek forgiveness for the mistakes we commit knowingly or unknowingly from the great Lord Shiva every night before sleeping, humbly and sincerely with a meditative mind focussed on Lord Shiva-That Auspiciousness in me.
My sincere Pranaam to Maa and to Manishji
Hari Aum!
