यज्ञायाचरतः कर्म समग्रं प्रविलीयते ।।4.23।।

To one who is devoid of attachment, who is liberated, whose mind is established in Knowledge, who works for the sake of sacrifice (for the sake of God), the whole action is dissolved. (4.23)

Prostrations at the Holy Feet of Sree Guru Parampara and at the Lotus Feet of Maa ji.

Oud Metha Study circle completed the study of the 18 chapters of Sreemad Bhagawad Geeta in the month of September 2022, just before Maa ji arrived on 6th September 2022. We humbly put forward our desire to perform Sreemad Bhagawad Geeta Homam in the benign presence of Maa ji. After seeking Maa ji’s consent and understanding the purpose as expounded by Maa ji to burn our ego of having read the Holy Book and gained knowledge, this knowledge is supposed to be sacrificed as an oblation in the Holy Fire. The Yagnya Fire has the ability to burn everything and bring it to Oneness. The prasad of Oneness in the form of the holy ash of the Yagnya signifies that whatever we do, all our actions are to be surrendered at the Holy Feet of the Lord Supreme and to be one with the Self always.

It was my first experience to be part of such a Homam and I must admit that the bliss and peaceful feeling of performing a ritual with understanding of the purpose does have an impact on one’s progression on the path of spirituality. Maa ji not only explained us the spiritual significance of conducting the Homam, but also guided us in the procedural aspects of conducting the Homam in Her own inimitable style. Sudheer ji officiated (as Yajaman) the Yagnya under Maa ji’s guidance and we offered the most selected verses from all 18 chapters with all our devotion by chanting “Swaha” at the end of each verse and “Idam Na Mama” at the end of each Chapter. At the end, we received prasadam of the holy ash from the Yagnya, after prostrating at the Holy Feet of the Supreme and Sree Guru Parampara.

During the beginning of the Homam, there were clear instructions from Maaji on 2 aspects - firstly to perform the Homam without fear (seeking forgiveness by chanting the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra) and the second is that one must be responsible for himself and not take decisions for others. I must admit that I was guilty of the second count. I did ask for forgiveness from Maaji and She explained to me, that when I take decisions for others, I am stopping their progress. It was to help everyone to build their own awareness that I had to be reprimanded, I sincerely seek forgiveness for this lack of awareness on my part at the Holy Feet of Maa ji.

It would be incomplete to finish this learning without offering our gratitude towards Chaitanya ji for having guided us, not only in the arrangements for the performance of the Homam, but at every step on this journey to the Divine.

Once again, humble pranaam at the altar of the Supreme and Sree Guru Parampara.
Hari Aum!
