NECTAR OF IMMORTALITY

Hari Aum!

Our humble Namaskarams to the Guru Parampara! We feel blessed to have hosted Her Holiness Maa Purnananda Ji at our residence and serve Her. In Maa’s presence, there is perennial flow of Knowledge and we seekers should prepare ourselves to be the right vessel to receive It.

Though it was Spring break for children, we could see quite a few numbers of parents from Gardens attending Morning Talks and then rushing to office. It was their first experience of morning classes and they said they got rejuvenated. They were so much eager to spend time with Maaji and listen to Her words of Wisdom. The one week was too short and it swept past in lightning speed!

Maa remains as my inner Consciousness and acts as a witness to all my thoughts, words and actions. We now understand the shallowness of our learnings. When the mind gets purified and is free from desires, True Knowledge seeps in.

Studying such a sublime text under Maa’s guidance while also serving Her made us introspect and relate our learnings to our everyday life. How I get carried away by my mind was clearly visible. The duality and plurality in my mind prevent that Knowledge of the One Supreme from revealing Itself to me.

Amrita Bindu Upanishad, is a drop of nectar from the Vedas which grants immortality. We were very fortunate to receive it from Maa, the Amrita Varshini when Dubai was lashed with rains.

To mind my mind was the silent message of the verses. We had to keep observing our thoughts, words and deeds in all levels of activities.

Mind is of two types Shuddh (devoid of desires) and Ashuddh (driven by desires). I have to practise Brahmacharya at the physical level, Ahimsa at the mental level and Satya at the Intellectual level. I have to make my mind Kaama Vivarjita. To work upon my mind to purify it, I need to practise Meditation. I have to be steadfast in this Sadhana till my mind gets dissolved and merges in my heart. That Knowledge is beyond all pairs of opposites and the essence of the ever manifest existing in me. Hence, I should withdraw all my senses and my mind to realise that “I am Brahman”. I related it to a simple example at home. The clock ticks all day and night, but we don’t hear it when we are busy in action. When we retire to bed and our home is absolutely quiet, we hear the ticking of the clock. Similarly, my mind should be in absolute silence devoid of desires or thoughts to find that True Knowledge in me.

To transcend, I have to rectify my thought process, drop my ego, channelize my intellect with a pure mind, and apply it in my speech and actions without taint while involved in Divine activities.

My thoughts, being subtler than my speech and actions, should be focussed on the One Supreme. Maa has taught us to practically study our own Self by staying with us, out of pure compassion. When we sit back and introspect on Her words of Wisdom, it will surely help us refine our thoughts and improve the dexterity in our actions.
