Inspiring address by HH Maa Purnananda Ji to all Study Circles (Through AV Conferencing)
My humble prostrations to Guru Shishya Parampara, Sashtang Pranaams to HH Maa Purnananda Ji, and many thanks to Sri Manish Ji who made this happen for the benefit of us all.
When the whole world is passing through such a calamitous phase of Covid19 pandemic, where shunning human contact is the way of living and essential for sustaining health & life, staying inside is prescribed forcefully by the law of the lands, thousands are perishing every day and millions are witnessing this helplessly, Shamshan Vairagya seems inspiring humans to be insightful for the real purpose for which they got this birth.
We the lucky few, who feel protected with the blessings & spiritual guidance of HH Maa Purnananda Ji, today were lucky to receive more blessings and guidance while sitting in the comforts of our homes on this auspicious occasion.
After invocation shlokas, Maa Ji filled us all with the sense of divine reverence by chanting the beautiful couplet for the Great Master Acharya Sree Adi Sankaracharya Ji
ह्रदये कलये विमलम चरणम ।
भव शंकर देशिक मे शरणम ।।
(“I Meditate on Thy pure Lotus feet in my heart, O Sankara, Be Thou my refuge”)
Spiritual Truths expounded in the Holy tradition of Guru-Parampara were reinforced today by Maa Ji with the strict advice to be sincere & meticulous in our daily saadhna. Maa ji gave the special message of going beyond the conditionings of mind for particular place & time of worship and particularly during tough times as prevailing these days. We should embrace situations as they come and look for innovative solutions but never falter on our spiritual pursuits which are of utmost importance.
Maa ji today gave us rare orientation combined with divine vision why we celebrate Jayanti of the great masters instead of birthdays as they are beyond the cycle of birth-death which we are not
“The quieter the mind, The sharper the intellect” when Maa Ji read Gurudev’s message for all of us, we were awakened to the Truth that how much we are indebted to Guru-Parampara and Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda Ji who has been the messiah for seekers in the current times who otherwise would have drifted away in the wilder extroverted pursuits, had they not been rescued by His teachings.
Maa Ji instilled the special flavor by combining Jayanti message with foundation strengthening teachings when She referred to the following verse & elaborated upon its importance
यज्ञदानतप:कर्म न त्याज्यं कार्यमेव तत् |
यज्ञो दानं तपश्चैव पावनानि मनीषिणाम् ||
(“Acts of sacrifice, charity & austerity should not be abandoned, but should be performed; worship, charity, and also austerity, are the purifiers of even the wise.”)
( The Bhagwad Geeta Ch 18 verse 5 )
The prevailing worldwide conditions of restricted movement & social distancing have forced many to review their extrovertedness and at least think about the inner self & the real purpose of human birth but such opportunities when nurtured under the guidance of true Masters, blossom our hearts once for all. Maa Ji’s regular & periodic guidance to align ourselves with our true nature with the help of Vedantic declarations gives us the divine opportunity to uplift ourselves and go beyond all fears, be it Covid19 or anything else.
Auspicious occasions carry special & deep spiritual meaning for all the seekers of the truth, particularly these days become special when they get soaked with compassionate teachings of the Gurus, Maa Ji made this day very special for us by lifting us out of our mental lock downs in Her unique style of emphasizing relevant guidelines which keep us aligned to our regular saadhnas.
