Cultivating Virtues & Nurturing The People Around

By H H Maa Purnananda

“Yadyadaacharati Sreshthah Tattadevetaro Janah; Sa Yat Pramaanam Kurutey Lokastadanuvartatey.”-(Sreemad Bhagawad Geeta – 3/21)

Recently I happened to visit Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, which I have been visiting 2-3 times every year since long. Apart from the sessions of discourses and morning classes, all arranged collectively by the Study Circle members, at times I have addressed other sections of the society, as arranged by the resourceful devotees there.

This time it was decided that talks on contemporary and relevant topics would be arranged at the factories of the Study Circle members for the benefit of their hardworking staff members. The idea was to encourage value-based approach towards their field of work which in turn is expected to trickle down right up to their workers and thereafter those on daily wages as well.

In the given Shlok Sree Bhagwaan says – “Whatever the great man (or the leader, or the head) does, that others follow; whatever standard he sets up, that the world follows.” Keeping this ideology in mind, the idea was to encourage a large number of people on the righteous path, irrespective of their religious belief. When our Study Circle members have been studying and practicing the philosophy of Vedant since long, talking to their staff helped to reach out to their subordinates with higher and extremely useful perspective towards improvement in their fields of work and of course, specifically their overall personality development due to subtle corrections in the attitude.

While choosing an ideal, it is of utmost importance to assess about the sincerity, integrity and nobility of the chosen ideal. Rest all can be worked-out, learnt and assimilated in course of time, but if these three are lacking in the ideal, then rest of all the abilities of the ideal would be quite worthless indeed.

As the owner of an industry and hence being the leader or the head thereby, it is therefore extremely important for such an individual, to cultivate the above three by means of religious and Spiritual practices. I am glad therefore to see our Study Circle members and their families who are not only cultivating the moral and ethical values personally, but are also trying to reach out to others by regularly organising discourses at their end. And of course, organising Topical discussions with me for their staff at their factories is further extension of their noble thought in the right direction.

I pray for the well-being and Spiritual progress of all our Study Circle members and their kind families at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar for relentlessly organising and hosting me with affectionate dedication, as their humble service at the Holy Feet of Sree Guru Parampara.

On the Auspicious Day of Deepaawali, may Sree Ishwar bless all associated with SISS with virtues and wealth!

Do not miss out to be the fortunate one, along with family and friends, to offer Sree Maha Abhishekam to Sree Ishwar at SISS on the Auspicious Day of Sree Kartik Purnima, falling this year on 24th November 2026.
