The quest for the unknown expanse of the cosmos can push the inquisitive being to an unimaginable extent. The hunger and thirst for survival can motivate a being to risk its very life! The killer instinct in the being can get charged even by trivial matters ignited by revenge, jealousy and greed. But what could inspire an intelligent human being to seek the omnipresent Supreme Consciousness?
From time immemorial, in every cycle of the specific spans of creation, there have been a handful of such enlightened souls, who have pronounced the presence of the Eternal existence of the ‘Real’, which is the ‘One-without-a-second’. These enlightened individuals, the Knower's of Truth, are also known as Seers, Saints, Realized Souls, Sadgurus and so on. Seldom one comes across such a Master, who is a Shrotreeya and Brahmanishth, the Knower of the ‘Real’ and who can also propound, in a logical way, about what he has known.
cholars and researchers spend their lives relentlessly in solving the mysteries of creation; the unfathomable depths of the oceans, unbelievable spread of space, unimaginable functions of the planetary system, unpredictable living machines called animals and human beings, and so on.
They are called scientists and possess unique abilities.
At the same time, we must acknowledge the abilities of the ‘Subjective Scientists’ who not only conduct immaculate research on any given objective field of the Cosmic Creation, but also go deep into the subtle aspects of Subjective Existence at both microcosmic and Macrocosmic levels. The rationale, of the Eternal Existence of One Consciousness as the Substratum of the whole play of Cosmic Creation at individual and total levels, is propounded by the Sadgurus, the Subjective Scientists, both logically & systematically. Sree Guru Purnima is a reminder to humanity to honor these great Subjective Scientists, for their divine persona.
The pure Consciousness is all-pervading and yet mysterious, because it is concealed behind the veil of ignorance. Non-apprehension of this reality is termed as ‘ignorance’ in Vedant philosophy which gives birth to individuality or ‘ego’, which in turn, leads to misapprehensions of this pluralistic world of objects, and thoughts. Therefore, the ‘Real’ remains a mystery to the ‘egocentric being’. All spiritual practises are introduced by the Sadgurus for sublimating ego so that the seeker of Truth may one day solve the mystery behind the Real and meet with his Essential Existence – the Eternal Self.
Sreemad Bhagawad Geeta, the Upanishads and the like are such works of the Seers that guide the seekers to establish union with the Divine Self by adopting the practises of Buddhi Yog. The best way to get an insight into these works is by way of listening – called Shravanam of the explanations; for which, you may watch the Epic channel every Saturday morning at 8.00 a.m. and Sri Sankara TV every Sunday morning at 8.30 a.m.
