Pilgrimage - The Flight of Soul to the Self

On assessment of your sincere effort to make the best of the ticket of Karm Yog Sadhna that you were given by the Guru, you might get upgraded by the Guru for the ticket of Dhyan Yog.

If you are given the ticket of Dhyan Yog by the Guru, then you would have to understand the stepwise Dhyan Sadhna, but remember, it is imperative that Dharm has to be the basis to attain Dhyan, Bhakti and Gnyan Yog, as much as to attain Karm Yog. Moreover, for any of the given Yog Sadhna-s to work for you, Dharm has to be implemented in thought, word and deed, without compromise.

Dhyan Yog Sadhna could be the eightfold practice of Ashtaang Yog expounded by Maharshi Patanjali as in Yogsutra, or else, any of the practices prescribed by the Vedant Guru-s Bhagwaan Sree Vedvyas and Adi Shankaracharya who have provided The Brahm Sutra-s, The Upanishad-s, Sreemad Bhagawad Geeta and number of such most precious Sacred Books of Knowledge; and later on, further explained by Sree Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Swami Vivekananda, Sree Ramana Maharshi, Param Gurudev Swami Tapovanam and Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, to name a few.

Dhyan Yog Sadhna, well supported with Yagynaarthaat Karm (sacrificial acts), would make your further journey on-board peaceful and pleasant. You will glide higher and higher, as the journey proceeds ahead. Enjoy the scene outside your five windows with bird’s eye-view, and do not forget to work diligently and continuously upon the scenario within. While seated, make sure that your seat-belt is fastened; else, you might easily dose off or slide downwards!

If you do not want to lose the golden opportunity to get further upgraded, then be ready to guide your intellect as per the directions given by the Guru to get drenched in Navadha Bhakti at the Holy-feet; with focused Shravanam to begin with, followed by Keertanam, Smaranam, Paadsevanam, Archanam, Vandanam, Daasyam, Sakhyam and ultimately to culminate into Aatmnivedanam (complete surrender). This Pilgrimage - The Sacred Flight of the soul to the Self, is difficult without the said Bhakti towards the Holy Form-representative of Satchidaanand Swaroop (the Self). Therefore, to avoid the risk of turbulence due to the storm of ego, it would be best for the flier to accept the Guru’s advice of complete surrender unto Him, for hassle-free and safe flying ahead.

The last lap of the Flight would be accomplished by inculcating and implementing Gnyan Yog Sadhna to land safely unto the Self, from where you need not return as you successfully reach your Ultimate destination, your Original, Essential, Eternal Abode. Though it seems exciting, but it needs a lot of single-pointed persuasion to get this most coveted one-way ticket. Here, the Guru assures the ticket-holder, a luxurious treatment offered by the Devta-s (presiding Deities of the ten sense organs, mind and intellect). But for your own benefit, with the seat-belt of self-control well tightened, by rejecting all such seemingly lucrative offers, it is advisable to remain steady and well-focused upon your Ultimate Destination. To win over the Devta-s and come out victorious, the first step here would be to cultivate and enhance Vivek (the power of discrimination between the Absolute or the Permanent and the relative or impermanent). Vivek would cultivate Vairaagya (dispassion), which in turn would develop Shamaadi Shatka Sampatti (six-fold inner wealth of virtues). Ultimately, this unmatched six-fold wealth, when well-spent, would get you Mumukshuttvam (burning desire for liberation).

At this stage of your Sacred Flight the Guru would no more have to guide you or fly you any further. You will be bestowed by the Guru with the ability to fly on your own and arrive at your Final Destination, your Essential Abode.
