Nature (Prakriti) is insentient; its Substratum – Supreme Consciousness (Purusha), is sentient. Hence, the motion in matter, growth in plant kingdom and cycle of birth and death in animal kingdom are all signs of the presence of Consciousness. It is the holding power of Consciousness due to which the whole world of matter is held together, Its nourishing power by which the plant kingdom is nourished and Its assimilating power by which the animal kingdom is sustained.
Similarly, our gross physical body (Deha) and the subtle body made up of mind-intellect equipment (Antahkarana), are held together, nourished, sustained and enlightened by the same power of Consciousness – our True Self. Due to the veil of ignorance over the Substratum, we remain unaware of this. We learn from The Vedas to acknowledge the presence of Consciousness as the very core of our existence and the very Source of existence of the whole Creation.
The Vedas reveal this Sacred Knowledge and various practises to attain our True Self. Humanity will always be grateful to the great Visionary Maharshi Ved Vyasji, who compiled the four Vedas and the great Epic Mahabharat and has authored the eighteen Mahapuranas and other Scriptural Texts.
