HUMAN ACTIONS – INTENTIONAL OR INSTINCTIVE
Snigdha (Delhi – NCR)
“Hari Aum! Are human actions always intentional? Or can they be instinctive also. Can you kindly explain?”
Manish ji’s reply: [as understood by me]
“Our actions are always intentional, not instinctive like other species of living beings. Even seemingly instinctive actions of humans are not instinctive but are always intentional. Living an instinctive life, a being cannot not commit any merit or demerit. But as human beings, we are endowed with the faculty of “Intellect”. For this reason, our actions are always intentional. The “doer -ship” in us keeps us bound to the ego, which always seeks appreciation for our actions.
As human beings it is our responsibility to use this faculty of intelligence with caution. Since our actions are always intentional, our efforts should be, to be alert and agile, to keep a check upon our tendencies (which are the driving force for all our actions) and make our intention behind any action pure.
If our intentions are pure, it will result in “punya”, otherwise the ego-centric actions will lead to paap karm-s.”
