GOAL SETTING IN SPIRITUAL LIFE

Sunanda – Dubai (UAE)

“Hari Aum!

Q) Can we set goals in our Spiritual Sadhana, as we do in our worldly life? “

Manish ji’s reply:

[As understood by me]

Yes, there is a goal to be accomplished; to be with the Self. To reach there we should have short term and long-term goal setting, otherwise there is no point of pursuing spiritual sadhana.

Like, an electrical equipment cannot function on its own no matter how sophisticated the equipment may be, without electricity flowing through it. Similarly, a man cannot function without the presence of Consciousness in him. Human body in its three levels of existence, physical, mental and intellectual express only in presence of Consciousness in the form of thought or deed. The body can sustain only because of Consciousness. Absence of it will lead to its decomposition.

The purpose of human birth is to reach that Core - the Consciousness. All spiritual practices that are prescribed, like studying the Scriptures doing vrat upwaas etc. under the guidance of a Sadguru, are meant to bring a person on the right track leading one in the right direction to elevate oneself many-fold to reach this Goal.

One may try to inspire others to join in the Spiritual pursuit. But if not, one need not go down to the level of others and get a baser view of life and make decisions, while he can get the aerial view of life and understanding it better and clearer because he is elevated and has escalated his progress by doing Spiritual Saadhna.

Constant Purusharth is required to get out of the time cycle and be with the Divine Self, else it is a backward journey which will lead to devolution alone.

Dhanyawaad Manish ji for helping me understand the importance of Goal setting in Spiritual Sadhana.

Humble Pranaam.
