DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A STONE AND ME
Aadya – Chh. Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad)
Hari Aum!
Q) Can you please help me understand as to what is the difference in the combination of gunas between a stone and me? Does the stone have Consciousness?
Manish ji’s reply:
[As understood by me]
“Let’s start from going over,
The three bodies – Gross, Subtle, Causal.
The five sheaths, i.e. Panchkosh – Annamaya, Praanmaya, Manomaya, Vigyaanmaya, Anandmaya.
The Taamsik aspect of the Panchmahabhoot after amalgamation, forms the objects or gross body, i.e. the Annamaya kosh.
The Raajsik aspect of the Panchmahabhoot forms the Praanmaya kosh.
The Raajsik + Saatvik of the Panchmahabhoot aspect form the Manomaya kosh
The Saatvik aspect of Panchmahabhoot forms the Vignyaanmaya kosh.
These together make the subtle body comprised of 17 components – five organs of perception i.e. Gnyaanendriya, five organs of action i.e. Karmendriya, five physiological elements i.e. Panchpraan, Mind and Intellect.
The Anandmaya kosh forms the causal body, which is the adulterated Sattva.
The total Causal body is Ishwar (Maya, which is not influenced by prakriti). The jeev, the individual is affected by the gunas, as the ego comes into picture. Total mind-intellect equipment is called Hiranyagarbh, further conditioned into plurality is Virat.
The individual Causal body is Pragnya, into the subtle body as Taijas, further grossified as Vishwa.
Body and consciousness are two different things, e.g. Waking and dreaming states.
Chetan shakti is, “Motion, Sensation and Thinking”. It is what is absent in a dead body.
The degree of emanating Consciousness is different in different objects, and the gunas determine how much Consciousness is in obstruction. Further, how much an existence is aware towards this Consciousness, decides its evolution. More awareness; more is the evolution and vice-versa.
Thus Consciousness pervades all, but the level of awareness towards this Consciousness is what separates the stone from a being”
