Vyavasaayaatmika Buddhi & Scriptural Ordinance

Saurabh – Dubai Study Circle

Q) “How to live life as per Scriptural ordinance in spite of being in Vyavasaaya?”

Manish ji's reply:

[As understood by me]

“When we go to watch a movie, once we come out of theater, how long can the effect of the movie last? May be 30 minutes, one hour or that entire day may be. But after that we get into our routine chores of life. Similarly, we need not be in the Vyavasaayaatmika Buddhi all the time. It is completely up to us, whether we want to be in the world the entire day or not! Sansaar is nothing but History repeated. One can be in the world, but not of the world. Important point here is, that if a man pursues something, it will be achieved by him, one way or the other, sooner or later. The question is not abound achieving, it is about how long can one sustain it? We all are in the race of achieving something or the other, but with that achievement, as an Individual will I remain grounded, or can I sustain it for-ever? This should make us think about what should be our goal or target?

One must work in the world no doubt, but - work efficiently, rather than creating more vasanas. Whether one chooses to be a part of sansaar – repeated history, or not to be a part, is completely dependent on the evolution of the individual.

Our Life is based on 4 pillars of Purushaarth - Dharm, Arth, Kaam, and Moksh. We need to ask this question to ourselves whether we are performing our karm as per Dharm?

Let us consider 2 examples –

Milk will not float on water, but it mixes with it. Similarly, as long as our devotion is mild or moderate, it will be influenced by the world. Therefore, we should avoid such influences as much as possible. Only when the milk of our Consciousness is churned into butter of divine realization, then only it will float easily on water of this world and remain unaffected by it…

Spiritual life is often conceptualized as a journey. So the man is like a boat on the ocean of life. One needs to cross the ocean of worldly life, with all 'the fearful currents', in order to get to the 'other side', connoting a state of Enlightenment. If there is small hole in the boat, then the boat can capsize into the world of sansaar. Choice is ours - one can be in the world, but not of the world.

May Sree Guru Parampara bless us with spiritual upliftment, strength and dynamism.”
