The foods which increase life, purity, strength, health, joy and cheerfulness, which are savoury and oleaginous, substantial and agreeable, are dear to the sattvik .
To some extent a person is conditioned by his food intake and his choice of food depends on his Gunas.
These 2 Stanzas belong to the Jnyaan Yog so once a person is aware of his tendencies he knows how to improve himself and come to realize.
