To attain Self-realization
Here again, our mind complicates situations daily. Mind has the tendency of dwelling on objects, making it difficult to focus and make thoughtful decisions. To attain stillness, we need to control the extroverted mind and devote to the Supreme. Here, lord stresses on controlling your senses by withdrawing all consciousness from them. For this, one needs to practice contemplation and chanting AUM.

How to attain Moksha - these Shlokas indicate that all the senses are controlled through mind when withdrawn from the world and confined to the heart. Prana too, by withdrawing (controlled) and directing too, these are only attained by long years of practise of upasana. If one can remember Him on death bed, we leave the body to attain Moksha. This indicates reaching Moksha is the highest goal.
