And many other heroes also, who are determined to give up their lives for my sake, armed with various weapons & missiles, all well skilled in battle.
In this verse also, arrogance of Duryodhana reveals the prevailing wrong attitude where he misunderstands that these heroes gathered to fight Pandavas have come for his sake.
We need to understand that people flock around us due to our position & power, not for ourselves. If we don’t have position or power everyone not only shies away from us but may not even respond even for a just cause.
In our day to day life we have seen when people get retired from positions of power, no one cares for them.

Here, in this verse, we can see how arrogance, vanity and false pride swells up our head. The intoxication of pride is so strong that our intellectual thinking goes haywire. In our ignorance we fail to understand that no one will do anything for us without reason. People are after power, fame and money. Our over-confidence kills us. Therefore, we should be very vigilant and think intellectually before coming to any decision.
