My first trip to SISS was a remarkable one. It was my second trip to Delhi but the experiences were poles apart both those times. It wasn’t anything like what I expected it to be. Before going, I was very anxious about how things were going to be and whether I could make any good friends as I was going alone and didn’t have company. Luckily, I had met a good group of friends who shared my same interests and we got along quite well.

I was amazed how well everything was organized, including the duties allotted to each individual.

We also had a bhajan session which everyone was looking forward to. I wasn’t very keen on it because I don’t know how to sing or dance and also because I am a very shy person. Still, I ended up having lots of fun.

"

I also found the workshop to be very interesting. The topic was Know What You Have. The first session, we were shown the BMI chart and I didn’t fully understand much. It all mostly went over my head and I found it hard to grasp most concepts clearly. I was just sitting quite and nodding my head, pretending I understood everything. As the sessions continued, I started to understand more and actually enjoy the topics.

" "

We were also shown the six environments and what impacts do these environments have on an individuals life. A few things that I have understood from these sessions are: " A man is what he thinks and does throughout his day.

An individual should choose who they surround themselves with and in what way do they impact us.

Another important point that struck me was it is important for us to follow our culture and religion as it gives us a clear path to self improvement and discipline.

"

This trip has taught me so much but these are my take away points that I wont forget. It has been an extraordinary few days for me and I am truly blessed to have been given the opportunity to experience this under maajis guidance.
