FACE DESTINY OR BEHOLD IT?

Hari Aum!

Till now I used to think of facing Destiny as it comes and being helpless towards situations and circumstances in life getting thrown hither and tither like the winds blow off dried leaves; but after listening to Pujya Maaji, I came to know that a person is responsible for his own actions and what he faces in life is because of his own past Karma. There are 2 types of people one who face life as it comes and others who Behold Destiny that is work for their Destiny. Facing life as it comes is a very casual approach towards Life.

I would like to share my learnings from Maaji’s Talks.

Who is a Beholder? Someone who observes someone or something. So, who is a Destiny Beholder? Someone who observes and works ‘Today’, to make his own Destiny ‘Tomorrow’. Our children are our Destiny, a fruit of our own actions in the past, and we as parents play a big role in our children’s Destiny.

Therefore; our responsibility towards them increases and hence we should give them the conducive environment to make their own Destiny by becoming their role models. One of Maaji’s calendar quotes cautions us “जरा विचार करो-बच्चे हमें सतत देख रहे हैं और हमारा ही अनुसरण कर रहे हैं|”

How can we give this conducive environment to our children? We should be a part of our children’s learning process by learning from a Guru and uplift ourselves, rise to the occasion and lead by example.

During our Daily Prayers, we chant:

ॐ सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः
सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः ।
सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु
मा कश्चिद्दुःखभाग्भवेत् ।
ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥

Which Means:
“Aum! May all be happy, may all be free from diseases, may all see Auspicious and may none face durbhagya. May not any sorrow fall on anyone.”

This is a prayer to the Divine for the welfare of everyone. We should work for our own welfare but not at the cost of others’ plight. We are invoking Superior Destiny by chanting this Mantra. We cannot expect Superior Destiny, if we do not work for it today. I have to work in such a manner that not only, am I happy; but also, the people around me are happy. Not only, am I free from diseases; but let me conduct myself in such a way that no sorrow, no diseases are inflicted upon anyone because of me. No inauspicious situations are created by me for myself or people around me. Everyone remains Healthy and Happy. Hence it all boils down to our own Actions, Activities, Deeds or Karma.

Karma and Destiny, they are not different but two sides of the same coin.
I am indeed blessed to receive this Divine Nectar of our Holy Scriptures under the guidance of Pujya Guru Maa.
I will put in sincere efforts to uplift myself and imbibe these great values as they are Shreyas. Behold my Destiny and not Blame Destiny as I very well know now, that I create my Destiny and I am responsible for it!

Dhanyawaad Maaji! My Humble Prostrations at the Holy Altar of the Revered Sree Guru Parampara and at Your Lotus Feet.
