FROM THE FOUR WHICH BIND; TO THE DOOR WHICH LIBERATES

Saurabh,
Dubai (U.A.E)

Whenever there are Call-Talks by HH Maa Purnanandaji, I always wait for the Name / Topic of the talks and start contemplating from the day the topic is announced. This time it was Independence from dependence. Then I was thinking 15 August has just gone and now Maaji is going to speak on Independence and my thinking cap was on.

On 25th Dec, an auspicious occasion, there were 3 celebrations, Sree Geeta Jayanti, Mokshada Ekadashi / Vaikuntha Ekadashi, & Sree Tapovan ji Maharaja Jayanti and the Icing on the cake was a call Talk from H H Maa Purnanandaji. The whole day went in the delightful, festive Sadhana from Guru Paduka Puja, Study Class, then Chanting of all 18 Chapters of Sreemad Bhagawad Geeta and Evening Prayers concluded with Tapovan Shatkam and Gurudev Arti for us.

As Maaji has said, we have to be very systematic in our thought process, because that's what brings the best sadhana out from all of us. Maaji spoke about which one came first - Mokshada Ekadashi / Sree Geeta Jayanti or Sree Tapovan Ji Maharaj Jayanti?

Sreemad Bhagavad Geeta was imparted by Sree Krishna to Arjuna on this day in Dvapara Yuga. We are now in Kali Yuga; Mokshada Ekadashi belongs to this yuga. So, for us, definitely Sree Geeta Jayanti comes first and then comes Mokshada Ekadashi, which has been calculated by the Gurus of this Yuga Manu & Sapta Rishis. As per our Shastras, Moksha Ekadashi is the Day when one really gets Independence from the Dependence. Then thirdly Maaji spoke about our Param Guru Swami Tapovan Ji Maharaj and the lineage of Sree Guru Parampara, by the blessings of whom, we can aspire for the above. Maaji has taken us through the topic Independence from Dependence in the same systematic manner.

There are four aspects of our dependence.

We are dependent on Desh (Place), Kaal (Time), Vastu (Objects) and Paristhiti (circumstances). These are the four which are the cause of our dependence. So, let us be very sure that these four being our cause of dependence, we must find our way out from all these four.

Maaji said, our Guru Parampara has opened the doors to independence from all these four, they have also shown the sacred path to the doors to independence through three aspects of our life, Cultural Traditions and Religious Traditions and Spiritual Teachings, so, when we practice these three in a proper manner systematically, then there is a scope of treading the sacred path to the doors of independence.

My understanding from the Call Talk is, if we want to achieve the ultimate Goal of Life that is Brahman which is our true self, then we must be free from Desh, Kaal, Vastu & Paristhiti that’s what my understanding is to have complete independence from dependence.

Sreemad Bhagawad Geeta is actually the basis or the foundation of our cultural tradition, Maaji took us through the Dhyana Shloka, “Yam Brahma Varunendra Rudra Marutaha…” & Chapter 18, “ Sarva Dharmaan Parityajya” and also 7 to 11 verses from chapter 13. All these verses were beautifully connected with the occasion of Sree Geeta Jayanti, to give us the importance of the cultural tradition and to bring our focus to the required divinity in us.

Chapter 18, verse 66, Bhagawan says to Arjuna :

सर्वधर्मान्परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणं व्रज ।
अहं त्वा सर्वपापेभ्यो मोक्षयिष्यामि मा शुचः ॥ १८.६६ ॥

Sarva Dharmaan Parityajya - Giving up all the other dharmas ,

Maamekam Sharanam Vraja - run and hold on to My singular refuge alone.

Bhagawan says, “Leave aside all the Dharma and take My refuge, I will make sure that you get liberated from all your sins”. Here the Lord is assuring us that we will be liberated from the sins. Sins in this context is the bondage of actions caused by our ego. If we perform all actions in service to Ishwara and accept any success or failure as Karma Phala from Ishwara, we will never have any worry or anxiety about the past or future. Ultimately, we will reach a stage where our mind is purified of all selfishness, leading to complete freedom.

What a great independence from dependence it is, by liberating ourselves from Desh, Kaal, Vastu & Paristhiti! Our dependence on these four, are due to our ignorance. So, if we want to become independent, then we will have to practice the qualities given in chapter 13, verse 7 to verse 11. All the qualities mentioned, belong to the Knowledge which will open the door of Independence, Bhagawan says.

These qualities make our Cultural foundation strong. It will take us to the Religious Tradition that is Mokshada Ekadashi. Then Maaji Spoke about Tattwa Bodha and the 4 fold qualification to have Mumukshutvam. Before we get Moksha, we should have Vivek, Vairagya, Shatka Sampatti and then Mumukshutwam. We need to practice the cultural tradition first, then we will have religious tradition, then only our true thought of Liberation will come. Otherwise we will not be liberated from the four aspects of bondings- Desh, Kaal, Vastu & Paristhiti. Once we are able to practice cultural traditions and religious tradition properly then only we will be able get the blessings of Gurus to get Spiritual Tradition in place.

We are so fortunate to have shelter of our Guru Parampara and on the auspicious occasion of Sree Tapovan Ji Maharaj Jayanti, Maaji took us through beautiful verse from ‘Tapovan Shatkam’

Salutations to Swami Tapovanam, who is Maheshwara-the Lord of Soumyakasi, who is of the nature of unbroken Existence, Auspiciousness, Consciousness, the Absolute Reality. He is the Truth of all truths, which is experienced by the pure intellect alone and is the Supreme Lord-beyond Pradhaan (Prakriti). He is devoid of beginning or end, the Light independent of any other source of light and is ever cheerful by His very nature.

We are so fortunate to visit Tapovanam Kutir in Saumya Kashi with Manishji. It’s a real blessing to chant Tapovan Shatkam at the Feet of Our Param Gurudev Swami Tapovan Ji Maharaj. I bow down at the Lotus Feet of Revered Guru Parampara & Lord Krishna who is our Geeta Guru and Our Humble Prostration at the Lotus feet of HH Maa Purnanandaji and Gurdev Swami Chinmayanandaji. We seek our Gurus blessings to get liberated from this mrytyu Sansaar Sagar.

Mumukshutwam - the Ultimate Goal!
That would be true Independence from Dependence

Pranaam.
