Drithrashtra’s blind materialistic view (दृष्टिम्) led to loss of his discriminative intellect and contaminated his soul (नष्टात्मानोऽल्पबुद्धयः) ultimately leading to the cruelty (उग्र-कर्माणः) of the Mahabharat war and thereby destruction (क्षयाय).
