Hari Aum!

This Guru Purnima Retreat was an eye opener for me from every point of view. If we can maintain the discipleship in every situation with an open mind, our surrounding itself assumes the role of Guru, by the grace of the Guru. Every life situation becomes a pointer in our journey of life.

The subtlety with which the “24 Gurutatva” (Point of View) were invoked by GuruMaa from Sreemad Bhaagvatam were very inspiring and touching many dimensions of life, like - How our habit pattern actually binds us? How various situations provoke us to react and make us repentant later for our reacting and not acting? What are hidden pitfalls that we may fall into while we are busy ‘making’ our lives? How we give importance to impermanent things in life forgetting the permanent, and hence the resultant confusion because of wrong connections. How the senses can play havoc in our daily life? How our wrong priorities in life make us waste our valuable time and energy in chasing them, and missing the goal of life in the process? What is the importance of discipline and discipleship in life?

All these questions demand an immediate answer! The discourses inspired us to open our hearts to our surroundings and nature around, and learn from them. Such experiential learning can very well be part of even the school curriculum for our children.

In short, this retreat, like an elevator uplifted our Mind-Intellect to relook at ourselves from a different perspective, and out of gratitude, we renewed our commitment to the Holy lineage of Sree Guru Parampara, on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. It is only their love and compassion that they lend their vision to us and by their grace only we could do Shravanam and Mananam on the 24 Guru Principles in the Sadguru Sharanam, at the feet of our most revered GuruMaa.

PS. Meanwhile, the environment at SISS has become greener & more conducive for spiritual saadhna. No words can be sufficient to express our credits to Manish ji, who almost single handily manages everything. The staff, as usual, is very helpful and courteous to make the stay comfortable.

Hari Aum!
