Our humble Pranaams at Maa’s Lotus Feet !

It was purely Maa’s grace to come over to Gardens all the way from Falcon City early in the morning to bestow pure Knowledge on us! It automatically triggers the self-discipline in us and makes us shed the Tamas. In Maa’s presence, I strive for perfection and awareness in all my thoughts, words and deeds. Controlling the mind and senses becomes the basis for learning, and the real understanding dawns only under Her guidance.

Maa stressed upon practising meditation and putting Knowledge into practice which becomes essential for Upanishad studies. Otherwise, one easily slips into the daily routine driven by desires and Vasanas. The Jeevatma is conditioned by many factors. Constant association with a Sadguru, makes one humble and more introverted. In Guru Maa’s presence and association, is when I understand that if I perform my sadhana as prescribed by her, I will definitely understand the right purport of the Text.

Maa with her profound Knowledge made us understand the 3 fundamental principles:

1. Theory of Conditioning, which is the grossest. It takes a longer time to decondition ourselves. Maa explained this with the example of Ghata and Aakash. The Ghata conditions the Akash, which does not know that it is the same as the infinite Aakash until the Ghata is broken.

2. Theory of Reflection, which is subtler than conditioning. The moon gets reflected in different ways in different vessels of water. Likewise, the Paramatma expresses Itself in different ways in each Jeevatma as per the Jnana.

3. Theory of Superimposition, which is subtler than the above two. Just as one mistakes a rope for a snake in darkness, and realise the truth when there is light, the Jeevatma also, because of the darkness of Maya / ignorance does not know its real nature. Once the soul realises that it is Superimposition, there is no re-birth.

Guru Maa gave some wonderful insights into Vedantic principles. She explained the two types of Vidya: Para Vidya – Realisation of the Self, and Apara Vidya – All other forms of knowledge.

Maa also explained the difference between Kaamna and Iccha. Kamna belongs to the mind and Iccha for higher purpose, to attain Brahman. Maa made us introspect the concepts of Shabda Brahman and Para Brahman, Gnyaan and Vignyaan.

Maa’s in depth questions made us more meditative and dwell deep into the subject. She made us understand that just like the ghee hidden in every particle of milk, which is obtained only by churning, by continuous sadhana, one can identify one’s True Self and realise the unity of Jeeva and Brahman.

I have no words to express our gratitude towards Guru Maa for imparting the Highest Knowledge to us, being aware and patient with all our shortcomings. We eagerly await Guru Maa’s next visit to Dubai. By then we promise to do our sadhana and improve upon ourselves.

HARI AUM!
